Foster Update - Miss Maggie is a sweet senior gal with a little spunky walk/hop when she gets excited. She is special needs as she is completely deaf and has mild kidney disease. We believe she is about 12yo and has other age-related things, but still loves attention, food and walks. She recovered well from the 5 teeth she had pulled, repaired hematoma on her left ear, mass removed back of neck and 5 small masses removed from below her eyes. She had all her stitches removed last week and is back to eating a combination of kibble/canned, plus treats of course. Maggie has her ears packed to remedy ear infections and still needs eye drops twice a day but otherwise is doing well. In the 3 weeks that we have been fostering her, Maggie has been great with all dogs and people she has come across. She can’t do flights of stairs (a couple is ok) but does jump in and out of the car and would rather go along for the ride than be left home alone without humans. Maggie is just a sweet little brown bear who wants to be loved and included. Introduction - Precious Maggie came to us after her owner passed. She is everything you love about labs-gentle, companionable, loyal. She has excellent house manners, is good with dogs and loves to go for walks. Maggie is a special girl, as she is deaf, so will need a secure yard and to be kept on leash for her outings. At a volunteer’s home, she loved exploring the different rooms and had no difficulty finding her way back to her new friends, both human and canine. She noticed the house kitty and had no reaction. Maggie will be a wonderful addition to her new family.
