Foster Update - After a very rough 1st night, he woke up with a wagging tail 2nd morning! He is a kind and gentle boy except when it come to take treats from hand - watch your fIngers!! Eats with great appetite, loves to walk and sniff - pulls a little bit especially when getting out of the door. I am working on that. Does not like the crate, so I am working on that as well, with making it a very positive place, but loves the pillow now. He obeys basic verbal commands and hand gestures. Does not react to dogs or anything so far on walks. Likes affection and company and knows for sure how to get up on the sofa if invited. Has good tummy and healing well from surgeries and his hips are slowly getting stronger, but it will take time but I am sure it can get much better. For just being on our second full day together - I would say he needs a home where he can hang out with someone who wants to go for walks and hang out together. Could probably be good with children but have not encountered any. Introduction - Blackjack is a dear older gent who comes to us by way of a shelter that reached out to ask for our help rescuing him. He has ear infections, some lumps and a bit of a stiff hind end. Not to worry, he is in our good hands and our vet is assessing his needs so his life just got much better!
