Foster Update - When Erika first arrived she was very nervous and shy. She didn't know what toys were and seemed she'd never been on a leash. We don't think she had much positive human interaction before coming to LR. As she has become comfortable with us she is more relaxed and very affectionate. She now follows us around the house and is always ready for pets and cuddles. She will gently put her paw on you when she wants more pets. She has figured out toys are fun and now she and our dog Jack will play chase and run and romp together the whole day. She takes treats gently and knows sit and shake. Erika is trustworthy in the house when left alone She met our cat and was just curious and sniffed her and moved on. Her personality is coming out more and more and she has shown she is a sweet and loving little golden. If adopted with another dog in the home she will do best with a male as she can be dominant with females.

Erika has been in training for leash reactivity when on walks or in public, but has no issues with our dogs or even visitors who come over to our house. Erika needs a family that is dog savvy and has experience with somewhat challenging dogs, who will be patient with her and has the time to invest in her as she will need consistency and continued training. Erika has a ways to go in her training and to learn the world is a safe place. When out in public she will also bark at people. We are working too on that with her training. Erika can be fearful of new things and noises.

Erika Loves water and will even roll around in mud puddles and she loves to run! We have a large back yard which is ideal for her as she can get a lot of energy out running around off leash

Introduction - Erica was spotted at a shelter crouching at the gate. She was overwhelmed and shut down. She is now coming out of her shell with her loving foster family that are giving her lots of love and consistent daily training showing her experiences that the world and people are safe.
