Foster Update - Rosa was returned to us by recent adopters. They absolutely adore her, but discovered time constraints with work schedules that made it unfair to her for all the new experiences she deserves. She thinks she was on a two-week vacation and is now back playing with her doggie friends.
We wanted to let her settle in for a couple of days, then work on some of her puppy behaviors to help her succeed. Rosa has very sharp puppy teeth and wants to chew on absolutely everything. Our three very patient resident dogs run out of patience with her on occasion as she’s still not always reading the signals to stop jumping on them to get a ball or play with them, even when they bark in her face. She has started very short walks this week and does well on sit command, has started learning down and come commands. There were lots of treats involved so hoping she picks up a few things quickly. It will take a while for her to get the routine and go on the pack walk, but she has lots of curiosity for all the things in her path and is enjoying the process.
Foster Update - Cute Rosa is having a great time in life. She is all puppy with lots of energy and curiosity to explore everything. She learned dog door, both in and out in record time, but learning to pee and pooh outside is taking a bit longer. She is having less potty accidents as the week progresses, but she is still learning to navigate and differentiate between inside and outside. She is not a big fan of the dog crate as yet, so sleeps in the middle on our bed along with a couple of other dogs rotating between the bed and their dog beds. She thinks everything is a chew toy; beach walkers, shoes, rugs, balls and every other sort of dog toy, doggie place mats, people – large and small, other dogs. Rosa gets lots of play time with our pack, with our 4-yr old Lab Heidi running point on puppy-sitting. Rosa is playing with all the big dog toys and has retrieved a couple of times. She loves chasing and getting toys and taking them out of our resident’s dogs mouths. She is currently getting three meals per day, loving them all. She eats last in the pack of five, and is not yet a big fan of sitting, staying and eating in pack order. She does love the group effort of licking the bowl when cooked chicken and salmon are involved.
Introduction - Chloe’s puppies were born on July 10, 2025. They are sweet and cuddle bugs. They like toys. They love to be held and snuggled. They are typical lab babies; eat, pee, poop, play, nap and repeat. Like all puppies they need a committed family – one that will socialize, train, love and have patience with them.
Check back soon as we update more about them as their personalities emerge. Rosa is a Dudley Labrador with a pretty pink nose.
