In addition to the adoption fee of $500, I will require a training deposit of $150 which is fully refundable upon completion of a training course.
Foster Update - We have had Kona for almost two weeks now and can't say enough good things about this girl!
She has been so good with Sienna and has managed to get her to play, including tug!
I would say Kona is medium-high energy. She settles nicely but LOVES to play. She would do well in a home with plenty of activity. Kids, walks, another dog that would play with her, or one with daily exposure to play time with other dogs. Even better if they would consider adopting two - Kona and Sienna. I'll provide an update on Sienna today as well.
This is what else we know about sweet girl Kona-Kona.
- Knows sit, down, stay, wait, here, drop it, can't reach it (explain more in a minute), and we think roll over.
- Great recall with "here"
- She is SMART
- Sweet cuddle bug of a girl. She will leave you NO space to sleep or nap.
- Loves dogs and kids, even the itty bittie kids. Haven't tried kitties yet.
- Can be strong on leash. But, walks well on a gentle leader.
Kona LOVES to play with toys. She will run herself to exhaustion so her new family will need to know when to shut it down. She will bring a toy to you and drop it. If it's too far away? No problem! Tell her "I can't reach it".and she will pick it up and throw it closer to you!!! Hahahaha Her previous owner said she would bring a ball to their baby and drop it. ??
We met a Itty bittie kiddo the other day...maybe one year old. Kona was very calm and gentle with him and gave a sweet little kiss on his cheek. Kona was a happy recipient of a return kiss.
Kona is plays well with other dogs and is respectful them during play or chill time. Again, she would probably appreciate having another dog.
Please keep Kona in mind for a family who can keep her busy and loved up. We will be at the adoption event on August 9th.
Introduction - Kona is a beautiful fun chocolate Labradoodle with stunning eyes. Her family is moving out of state and is not in a position to take her with them. What they told us about her is: She is good with their toddler. She tries to get her to throw the ball for her. She likes water but, unknown if she is a swimmer. Kona knows sit, shake, down, and kennel. She is potty trained and knows how to use a doggie door. What she loves most is playing fetch. If you want her stop playing fetch, you need to put the balls away. To protect her beautiful teeth, only rubber balls for Kona. Fireworks, she may get nervous if they are close she will huddle next to next. If they are in the distance, she doesn't care. She rides great in the car and will jump right in. She is dog friendly. Kona takes treats nicely. If there is a ball in a bush she will find it. Kona met three dogs at a Volunteer's house and was a good girl. Her foster reports that her other foster dog RUMOR and Kona get along great. Kona is a respectful ball player. Kona requires a training deposit. Kona is very strong on lead and will try to drag you to meet new dogs and people. Kona is social and likes to make new friends. She is a really great dog. Her eyes! Wow!
