In addition to the adoption fee of $600, I will require a training deposit of $150 which is fully refundable upon completion of a training course.
Foster Update - Daisy has been with me for a week now and she is a very sweet dog. She is housebroken, very friendly, knows basic commands, walks well on leash (no harness needed) and is eager to learn. I’ve taken her to the dog park and to the bookstore and cafes. She’s done great in all those settings. She sometimes wants to jump when people want to pet her and are enthustiatic, and she sometimes wants to pull towards other friendly looking dogs when we walk. But she is not difficult to control and I don’t think it will be difficult to teach her. She sleeps in a crate at night and has been crated for a few hours during the day when no-one was around. She also rides very well in the car and is mellow around the house.
Introduction - Daisy joins us from a So Cal shelter, where, shockingly, her owner never came for her, so we scooped her up quickly. She is a very sweet girl, still getting adjusted to her new life and all that is happening to her, but a friendly, happy girl. She comes to us overweight so she will need to stay on a healthy diet/ treat and exercise plan.
What we know so far is Daisy likes other dogs, loves going for walks and is a good walker with the harness. She knows sit, down, paw and listens well. Likes to be where the people are. Takes herself outside to potty. She moves very well for being at an unhealthy weight for her size, so that is promising. She is more of a moderate to lower energy pup, but will probably be a moderate level once she drops some pounds and feels lighter. Daisy met a volunteer's cat and did well so may be a good fit for a home with kitties. Please stay tuned for more updates on this sweet girl as she settles in at foster home.
