Foster Update - Laverne is doing well in her foster home, here are some observations: She now lies down and naps peacefully as long as she knows where we are. She's very calm, she loves cuddles and will roll over for belly rubs. She's lying on the floor in different spots in the house in a relaxed position, fully stretched. She enjoys being brushed. She takes treats very delicately. When we are eating, she doesn't beg and stays calm. When it's time to eat for her, she waits patiently and eats slowly, even leaves a few kibbles behind. She has learned the commands Sit, Lay Down and No, she really wants to please. She is playing with the resident puppy and loves toys. She likes to steal small items like shoes or magazines, but she gives them back easily. She's not afraid of the vacuum. She rarely jumps and barks. She may bark when something surprises her, but it's rare and brief. She met a few of our neighbors and their dogs, she was very calm and friendly. She is a really sweet girl who just wants to be close to her people and feel safe. She is is truly adorable. Introduction - Laverne was found abandoned on a hiking trail along with sister Shirley and a pregnant female who promptly gave birth at an over capacity shelter.
