Foster Update - Penny has settled into her foster home nicely. We are also trying to address some of her medical situation due to previous neglect. She now eats well and has a soft bed right by her foster mom's bed. She loves to get belly rubs and head scratches. We see her coming out of her shell little by little everyday. Penny has learned the Sit command and to sit and wait for her food at meal time. Penny likes to be close to her human and will follow her favorite person around. She gets morning and evening walks with her foster siblings and is an easy walking buddy. Penny's ideal home will be a home with a medium energy and friendly dog pal. She would love to go to her forever home where her people are home more than not. Penny is a sweet and gentle dog, she will be good in a home with kids, but not a home with toddlers. Introduction - Penny is a young golden retriever mix. We thought she might have been bred and dumped. She was not chipped, so after her holding period at the shelter, we went and got her out. Penny is a sweet and quiet girl. She's submissive and timid. She will show her sweet side once she knows she's safe. She is currently underweight and her fur, which should be shiny and fluffy, is dull and dry and thin. She didn't know it yet, but the tough life she once knew is now behind her. She will be in a foster home with caring foster parents and a sibling to show her the world is not a scary place.
