Foster Update #2 - Dory is such a happy go lucky girl. There isn’t a person or animal that she doesn't like. She is an alert barker so when someone knocks or rings the bell she barks but will settle after telling her “thank you”. She loves bananas now and watermelon too.

Foster Update #1 - Here is what I have learned about Dory: Knows Commands: Sit, Lay Down (almost consistent), Back Up, Paw, Leave It, Wait, Go Pee Pee (Close to being spot trained - seems to prefer cement over rocks or grass), Go to bed (dog bed or floor) I mainly use this to settle her when she wants non-stop attention, we are talking hours of petting. Behavior: • Typical happy go lucky Lab personality that makes us all love Labs so much. • Wants to always be as close as possible to her human. • Only wants to go outside when her human is outside too. • Eats very quickly so she is using a slow feeder. • Takes treats very gently. • So far likes strawberries, apples, carrots, broccoli. • Does not like bananas. • Ignores indoor cat. • Ignores outdoor bunnies, birds and lizards. • Needs work with walking on a leash but gets better each time. • Wants attention from all humans while out walking. • Will play with a stuffed squeaky toy or ball for short spurts. • Is not a counter surfer or beggar but she is always right by your feet for in case you drop something. • She has only barked once when she heard a door knock on TV. • Rides very well in car once in. Needs to be lifted into the car. Medical: • Currently on antibiotics for her skin. • Having baths 2 times per week. • Will be scheduled for a skin re-check in a couple of weeks and then a dental once cleared. Other: • Something to note is that her teeth are razor sharp and she does still do some puppy mouthing when excited that we are working on. She is as close to perfect as a Lab can be at least in my opinion. I will update in another week or so as I learn more about her.

Introduction - A retiring breeder has entrusted Labrador Rescuers with this beautiful purebred AKC English Labrador to find their forever home. Friendly, engaging and sociable, this dog will make a wonderful pet to any home committed to their training. They will need basic training skills, but know some commands. Rides quietly in the car, gives sweet kisses and is eager to please. Walking on a leash is new to this pup and leash training is necessary. This dog comes with their AKC Certificate form. Please check back for updates as we learn more about their personality from their foster home.

Other features: Dory comes with her AKC Registration Certificate. AKC registration can be transferred to new owner at the new owner's expense. It is not required to transfer the registration.
