In addition to the adoption fee of $600, I will require a training deposit of $150 which is fully refundable upon completion of a training course.
Vacation Foster Update -
Everyone who meets her says how sweet she is!
*She is very calm and rarely barks
*She loves to meet other dogs and just wants to play
*She was the life of the party at a 4th of July get together at our neighbors
*She doesn't steal food off the counter or rummage through our pantry
*She likes short walks to the park near our house
*Even my husband who is not a dog fan, said how well behaved she is
*Only struggles we have had are getting her into the car, going for long walks.
*She is prone to ear infections per vet but takes medicine well. Just doesn't like ear drops as any dog would.
Foster Update #2 -
Rumor continues to be a real sweetheart and a beauty, too.
What I know about her so far:
- Good in house and at night without crate
- Loves people attention and kids, stops on walks to watch people and hope they will come greet her
- Ignores cats and birds
- Does not jump up on people or furniture or counters
- Not reactive at all. I think she has barked twice so far and that was to ask to come in the house
- Not velcro - Happy to hang out in the yard or house
- No separation anxiety
- Likes the hose and fine with getting wet. I will find out if she likes to swim soon.
- No interest in toys or balls
- Takes treats super gentle
Things to keep in mind:
- Loves other dogs and would like a doggy friend to play with
- Aware and loves to watch the activity around her
- Thinks walks are to meeting people or dogs. If she wants to get somewhere she trots on over. Otherwise, she can be hard to convince to keep going.
- Needs help getting in and out of car. I am currently trying to train her on the ramp.
- Can go up and down steps, but can be hesitant to do so. Will do it quickly if she thinks there is a good reason to.
Foster Update #1 -
Rumor is very good natured, sweet and cute. She wants to greet everyone and every dog with a goofy smile. She would be best in a home with a doggy friend. She is a mellow girl, but always ready to go, curious and confident. She does not let her permanent limp keep her from walks or romping with other dogs.
She is very happy getting to be where the people are and is quickly learning about her new environment and settling in. She has been great in the house and is sleeping through the night on a dog bed in the bedroom. She still has lots to discover. She figured out how to cuddle up with me and watch TV for the first time last night.
Rumor was diagnosed with a FCE (Fibrocartilaginous Embolus) in Sept 2024. According to the vets, it is unlikely to occur again, but she is left with a limp, that does not appear to bother her. She would probably be best not climbing flights of stairs often. But she is good with a few steps at the house entrance.
