Foster Update #3 - Rumor is a charmer. She gives everyone and every dog she meets a big hug-me smile. She is so fun to have around. She watches all the action and will jump up and trot to visit with young and old. She really likes children. She is looking for a home where she will also have dog companionship. She likes to play (not too rough) with and just have another dog to lay near. She does have a bum leg and limp. She goes for short walks around my cul-de-sac. Flights of stairs are not her thing. She is ok with 2 or 3 in a row. Always wants to see what is going on out front. Most of all she is a happy, can-do dog that just makes you smile. Rumor has a let's go attitude and does not let her limp stop her from walks or romping with other dogs. An MRI has confirmed that she previously suffered a ruptured disc in her lower back which was not addressed at the time of injury. She is no longer a candidate for surgery due to the build up of scar tissue. This has resulted in neurological sequelae that have affected her gait and causes her to limp. The good news is that it is not progressive and she should have no further issues. Activity recommendations include, swimming, low impact exercise, under water treadmill, to build up and maintain muscle mass. Vacation Foster Update - Everyone who meets her says how sweet she is! *She is very calm and rarely barks *She loves to meet other dogs and just wants to play *She was the life of the party at a 4th of July get together at our neighbors *She doesn't steal food off the counter or rummage through our pantry *She likes short walks to the park near our house *Even my husband who is not a dog fan, said how well behaved she is *Only struggles we have had are getting her into the car, going for long walks.
Foster Update #2 - Rumor continues to be a real sweetheart and a beauty too. Here is what I know about her so far: - Good in house and at night without crate - Loves people attention and kids, stops on walks to watch people and hope they will come greet her - Ignores cats and birds - Does not jump up on people or furniture or counters - Not reactive at all. I think she has barked twice so far and that was to ask to come in the house - Not velcro - Happy to hang out in the yard or house - No separation anxiety - Likes the hose and fine with getting wet. - Takes treats super gentle Things to keep in mind: - Loves other dogs and does best with a doggy companion. - Aware and loves to watch the activity around her - Thinks walks are to meeting people or dogs. If she wants to get somewhere she trots on over. - Needs help getting in and out of car. Foster Update #1 - Rumor is very good natured, sweet and cute. She wants to greet every person and every dog with a goofy smile. She would be best in a home with a doggy friend. She is a mellow girl, but always ready to go, curious and confident. She does not let her permanent limp keep her from walks or romping with other dogs.
