Foster Update #3 - Myla is a stunning and energetic 9 y.o snow white Labradoodle. Don’t let the number 9 fool you, this girl is one very athletic Labradoodle like no other you’ve ever seen! Nothing is too much for her: she dives into the pool, she swims laps, she retrieves and she does it so well that she could put any Labrador cousins to shame, she plays tug and is quite focused on winning, she is very agile, she jumps with grace like Bambi, she hikes and is a nature-lover, she is just A-MA-ZING! Myla inherited the athletics of the Labradors and the intelligence of the Poodles. It only took her one day to remember the 3 locations with steps in my pool so she could get out safely. After her very first meal at home she knew where she had to be in order to be served her food. Myla responds very well to redirections. She is obedient and knows to sit and come when asked to. She walks well on a leash but I recommend using only a metal choke collar and no harness because she can be a Houdini. Myla takes treats very delicately and has never tried to steal food from my Labs when she finishes eating before them. She does not beg at the table and she is not a counter surfer. Myla is very affectionate and likes to give gentle non-slobbering kisses to your face. Myla has the personality of a pleaser, she is a dog who can be easily trained to do all sorts of tricks and with the right owner she could be trained on voice commands off leash very easily. If she needs to take meds, all you have to do is to mix the pill with her meal and she’ll eat it. She develops a strong attachment to the person who cares for her. Many people avoid adopting Doodles because of the cost associated with their grooming but our Myla prefers the free in-house grooming sessions done by her family. She lets me file her nails, trim the fur between her paw pads, trim any hair on her body and face, wipe her eyes, flush and wipe her ears and brush her teeth without displaying any signs of discomfort. Let’s not forget that with Myla you can say goodbye to floors and furniture covered with dog hair, and not only that, this fabulous girl is considered hypoallergenic. She is the full package! Because of her lady-like mannerisms she was coined the nickname of “Mylady.” Myla is looking for her own human, that person she would lounge next to and would ask for belly rubs. Myla reminds me of my late black Labrador Retriever Mishka who lived to be 16 y.o. The expression “Age is just a number” does certainly apply to super Myla! Foster Update #2 - Myla has moved to a foster home with two male Labs where she is enjoying frequent swims in the pool. Myla is very athletic and seems much younger than her age. She would chase the ball non stop if allowed. She is good on leash and is a fast learner and eager to please. She will be a great addition to a home with a canine buddy. Foster Update #1 - Myla has a lot of energy for her age. She loves to play fetch and enjoys heavy duty chew toys. She needs Kong+ chew toys (she has not chewed on any inappropriate toys, shoes, clothes, etc.). She likes to be around people and follows her foster mom around the house. Myla interacts well with the 5 yr old child in her foster home plus a bunch of his friends ages 2-8. She is good at the dog park. She is housebroken and knows how to use the doggie door. She walks well on a gentle leader. She is on a grain free chicken free diet for skin sensitivities. Myla and her sister Molly would love to have a forever home together but they are in different foster homes and can be adopted separately.

Introduction - One of our partner vets reached out asking if we could take Molly and Myla when a client brought them in due a life change that made it impossible to keep them. Of course we said yes to this request to help these two sweet seniors. They have the same father but different moms. Molly is 7 mos older than Myla, and has straight hair. Myla has a curly coat more like a poodle. Both of them love to swim, enjoy car rides, are house trained, and meet new people and other dogs well. They do pull on their leashes a bit. Ideally we’d like to try to keep the girls together, but they may be adopted separately.
