Foster Update 4.9.25 - Coco is an absolute joy, full of spunk and the life of our house. She seriously thinks she is a lap dog! Coco is a great listener and thriving with routines. She loves people. She does have a super high prey drive, so no small animals or cats for this girl.

She will stay when asked and is no longer door dashing, so huge win for her (and us)!

Coco is still struggling with her leash reactivity, so we are going to work with a trainer over the next few weeks. Check back to see how she progresses! Foster update 3.27.25 - Let me just start by saying, don't let her size throw you, this girl is full of spunk and it just a happy girl. She seeks attention but is also good with being on her own. Last night she put herself into her crate at 9 pm and stayed there all night. She is still recovering from her spay, but will introduce her to the pool later this weekend. What we know: - House broken

- Potty Trained

- Knows sit, down, stay and her name

- Crate trained - we have left her during the day, in her crate, and no issues with SA, she just sleeps

- Loves kids and all people!

- She doesn't like her ears cleaned and will go hide in her crate

-She's afraid of the vacuum, also hides in her crate

- Afraid of the shower and hose So needless to say, this girl needs some help learning every day things don't need to be scary. She needs work in these areas: - The leash, She's reactive and being 114lbs, she's strong and will pull hard. We walk her to and from school every day, so she's around kids, bikes, scooters etc. She reacts to other dogs, the rest she ignores

- Door dashing, bet you didn't guess that one. This girl will just dart right by you, not caring if she has to push through you, so we are working on this as well.

- We started seeing some jumping, she will come barreling through the house and try to jump into your lap (this also took us by surprise). I am not sure if she's just settling in or if this is a "concern" for the next family. I just wanted to make note in case a family with small children were interested. She loves my kids and will just sit with them, and present her belly.

All her bursts of energy are short lived and she's back to sleeping, but I would imagine those burst will become longer as she keeps feeling better and shedding the pounds.

Introduction - Coco was found at a shelter where she had been left due to owners moving. She is a stunning English style lab with block head and stocky body. She appears to have had a litter or two. Coco is a big girl and will start a slow weight loss journey with her foster. She was a shelter favorite with staff and volunteers with her friendly temperament and wagging tail. This gorgeous lab is new to us and will need time for her foster to get to know her before meeting potential adopters.
