Foster Update #3 - My name is Coco, and I'm ready to find my forever home.

My past is a little foggy. I remember being brought to the shelter by my family, and it was loud, confusing, and really scary. Thankfully, my foster home has given me safety, love, and peace. I’m starting to feel like myself again—and I’m loving it.

Could you be the one to give me that forever kind of love?

I don’t need much—I promise to be a very good girl. I am potty trained and love to play ball. I have even learned how to play hide and seek with my foster humans! I adore my crate and often nap in it during the day, even when the door is open. When my foster family has to leave, they close it and I just curl up and snooze until they come back.

I enjoy walks, but I get nervous around other dogs. If we can avoid those stressful situations, I’ll repay you with tail wags, unconditional love, and lots of laughter.

I may have had a rough start, but I have so much love to give. Are you the family I’ve been waiting for?

Foster Update #2 - Coco is ready for her forever home. If you are looking for a homebody, Coco is a great companion who will brighten anyone's home.

-Coco wants to play and snuggle in the safety of her house and yard. She doesn’t enjoy exploring outside the house.

Coco’s family wish list:

-Coco would love a yard where she can play catch.

-A pool would be great, but not necessary.

-She loves to play with her large foster brother dogs, she wouldn't be great for smaller dogs/animals.

-Coco is crate trained and potty trained.

-She loves kids and respects them well. She does get a little playful at times and with her size might knock little ones down, so ideally dog savvy children or slightly older.

-She knows commands; sit, down, stay, paw, come.

-She doesn't beg, but does use her nose well, so we feel she would be an opportunist if something yummy is at reach.

-We've had lots of company in and out over the last few months and she is respectful and loves all the human attention.

If your family is looking for a lovebug & homebody and understand Coco is not the dog who enjoys being out and about, this girl would love to be a member of your family. She has been nothing but amazing at our house and she deserves to feel save and loved in her forever home. Foster Update #1 - Let me just start by saying, don't let her size throw you, this girl is adorable, full of spunk and just a happy girl. She loves kids and people and seeks attention but is also good with being on her own. Coco is a great listener and thriving with routines. She does have a super high prey drive, so no small animals or cats for this girl. Coco is still struggling with her leash reactivity, her challenges are on walks, when we encounter other dogs, so we are working with a trainer. She is making progress but still has a long way to go. She does require a prong collar with strongly timed corrections. She will continue to be a management dog for as long as she needs. Her future family will have to understand what is required in order to manage her on walks. At this moment, Coco cannot go to a dog park or dog beach, we have faith she can eventually get there, but this is not the dog we have right now. Coco needs patience, consistency and a strong leader. We want to set both Coco and her future family up for success. Introduction - Coco was found at a shelter where she had been left due to owners moving. She is a stunning English style Lab with a block head and stocky body. She appears to have had a litter or two. Coco is a big girl and will start a slow weight loss journey with her foster. She was a shelter favorite with staff and volunteers with her friendly temperament and wagging tail.
