Foster update #4 - Remi has settled nicely into a routine. He enjoys having another dog buddy to hang with, and we think he would also like a human playmate, probably at least 9 or 10 years old to tumble around and play with. He still needs consistent and ongoing training on his commands. After a busy day, he will settle at nicely your feet. Remi is still a little underweight and needs to eat square 3 meals/day until he reaches his ideal weight.

Foster Update #3 - Remi has learned his name and now fetches the ball. He is not afraid of the vacuum! We cat tested Remi and discovered that he seems ok with dog savvy cats, these cats are comfortable in the presence of dogs. We don’t know about cats that are not used to being around dogs. Remi also will now go into the crate for a nap! Foster Update #2 - Remi is a great dog: . He’s a long legged boy and just glides as he trots around the yard . He will be a loyal companion in whatever his person wants to do, walking, hiking, gardening… . When we walk, he’s no longer getting tied up in my legs, but is in contact with my leg so he always knows where I am . Has learned the dog door . Learning the kitchen boundary . Very curious about everything he sees and hears, just getting interested in tugging with a pal; we don’t have a pool so I don’t know about swimming . Does not get on furniture but wanted to get on my bed; re-directed easily . Takes treats gently . Can sit and down with treats . For now, he’s getting 3 meals a day and scarfs it down in a slow feeder. Once he puts on a couple of pounds, he’ll be a perfect weight and still slim & trim Working on: . the order of feeding (he’s last and doing better each day) . He’s a door/gate dasher . Not a fan of the crate but he will eat in there Foster Update #1 - Remi is one handsome and easy boy to have around. He has only been with us a couple of days, and this is what we know so far… . Eager to please his person/people . Gets along well and romps with his foster’s dogs; we don’t know about cats or other critters (or children- I think he would bowl over young ones unintentionally with his enthusiasm) . Does not seem to know how to play (fetch, for example) yet . Walking on a leash seems new to Remi as he wants to be in very close contact . He chills nicely after a walk or romp in the yard . No accidents in the house after the 1st day . Eagerly sits for treats and takes them gently, but otherwise the word ‘sit’ means nothing to him. . Overall he is well behaved, but needs practice on basic commands . Seems like he may have lived mostly outside, as he lays on the hard floor vs a bed . Not a fan of a crate, but we are feeding him in an open crate for starters . Will need a family dedicated to ongoing training for him to be the best boy he can be

Introduction - Remi is a gorgeous and friendly boy, and a diamond in the rough. His tail wags all the time, but he doesn’t seem to know any commands. He will need a family committed to consistent training, and he will reward you with lots of love.
