My Adoption Fee is $300.
Foster Update #2 - This sweet girl finally got her 'spa day' at our vet and she got plenty of attention. First, she was spayed, and is currently recovering. As a low-to-medium energy dog, she's made things pretty easy for me, mostly lounging in whatever room I happen to be in. She also had some major work done on her smile, with teeth extractions on her left side (they'll do the right side in 1.5 weeks, as they wanted to limit her time under anesthesia). She's eating softened kibble, snacks, and takes her medicines with no problem. The vet also removed 4 masses, results are pending. And lastly, she's being treated (again) for an ear infection.
Despite all these issues, Fudge has been a joy to foster.
Although I am currently limiting her activity, Fudgie likes to go for a 15-20 minute walk around my neighborhood. I think that's about her limit, as she's ready for a nap when we get back.
She gets along great with my other lab, Lily. No issues or disagreements at all.
Fudge does not seem to be interested in toys. Once she's fully healed, I'll test her with the swimming pool to see if she's interested. My guess is no...
I have only heard her bark 2-3 times in the month she's been with me. Her bark is like a 3 on a scale of 1-10, not loud at all.
She is house-trained and uses the doggie door to go outside as needed. She sleeps on her bed in my room, and she stays in bed until I get up in the morning.
Fudge would be a great dog for an individual or family who is looking for a low-to-medium energy dog. She's not going to go for runs or retrieve tennis balls - but she is very affectionate, loves petting and belly rubs.
Foster Update # 1 - Fudge (Fudgie) is 100% a velcro dog and a mellow sweetheart. She follows me into every room.
No barking yet. She ignored the birds in my front yard.
Fudgie knows the following commands: Sit, come, no! She does not appear to be interested in any of the toys available to her. She is a counter sniffer, but not a counter surfer.
After 2 days, she has figured out how the doggie door works, and she goes outside as needed. She slept through the night on a doggie bed in my room.
Took her on a 15-20 minute walk around the neighborhood and she walked ok on the leash, stopping to do lots of sniffing and frequently walking in front of me. Low to moderate exercise needed. She was breathing hard during the entire 20 minute walk. She will need additional leash training.
The only downside I see is that she drips water all over the floor when she drinks from her water bowl, easily solved with a towel on the floor.
Introduction - Fudge is a chocolate beauty with a lovely temperament. She has met children, and dogs of various sizes, and was friendly to all. Fudge needs to be spayed and have a dental performed and will be heading soon to her foster home. Please check back to learn more about Fudge.
