In addition to the adoption fee of $500, I will require a training deposit of $150 which is fully refundable upon completion of a training course.
Foster Update - Haru is a big excitable young Lab, but he is awesome and a jewel of a Lab. He’s a super sweet dog and has been great with our toddler grandson. He played with a Lab and a Dachshund over the weekend, the other Lab is super excitable and the two played hard. The Dachshund shared some sniffs but then told Haru to back off and Haru respected that and never pestered him. Haru loves his toy babies and is gentle with them. He loves the sprinklers and hose and isn’t afraid of the pool, but we’ve discouraged that because of his recent neuter. He is fully housebroken. He’s great with the crate and goes right in. He’s great in the truck too, he whined a little the first trip, but perhaps he was nervous about where he might be going. Since he was previously an apartment dog he prances around our backyard like he’s in paradise. In his heart, he’s a lap/sofa dog but in reality he’s a bit large for laps. He does pull on leash but isn't terrible, a 6 out of 10. He’s super sweet and just loves company, he will follow his foster dad around the house and yard doing chores and just settle in for a nap while he waits. Haru definitely needs a family who understands that he will need lots of continuous direction to be his best self. He’s a great big strong lug, but will make an amazing family dog.
Introduction - Haru means joy, clear weather, or springtime in Japanese. Haru just had his first birthday on February 5. He lived in an apartment with a small patio and a 3-3 1/2 ft wall which he climbed over. He also lived with a baby and a toddler who let him out frequently on the patio. Partners in crime?
Haru likes children and is very eager to engage in play with other dogs, so he could use some manners and of course more exercise and training. But he is smart, knows sit, and takes treats nicely. He is also crate trained and rides quietly in the car. Haru is a handsome, friendly Lab who looks forward to meeting applicants after he heals from his neuter. Stay tuned for foster updates.
