Foster Update 02/16/25 - Stormi has been with us a couple of weeks now and is due to be spayed early in March. • Potty training going well, about 95% at present • Heat cycle seems to have completed • Still pulls a bit on lead, but prong collar helping. Loves her walks • Sits and stays for her meals in pack order • Super high energy – loves to play jet dog in the yard and/or the house • Loves to retrieve. Returns ball to go again and again. • Still learning how to read other dogs, so may have been under socialized. She jumps up and on our fur kids on occasion. They correct her lots. She is also not great at reading when a dog is not friendly on our walks and thinks she could win them over, so will need a loving parent to keep her safe when out and about. • Sleeps through the night from about 9:30pm to 5:00am (has been in crate through her heat cycle.) 1st night out last night she slept with us on the bed, another bed hog. Introduction - Stormi is a sweet, high energy young Lab having a great time in life. During evaluation she took treats gently, pulled lots on lead and squirmed with all the pulling, pinching and prodding. Loved the kibble I provided, but let me take it away and was willing to share with Summer, our resident Lab. Had a couple of pee accidents after arriving home, but may be due to newness of environment, and was not thrilled about sleeping in crate last night. Stormi is currently in season, so it will be at least another week or two prior to spaying. She did really well with our pack order feeding plan and sat and stayed for her meals last night and this morning when placed before her. She played lots with our dogs on arrival and did better on dog walk this am, returning to play ball, then play some more. Our dogs are correcting her energy and she is really trying to listen. She learned the dog door super fast after watching our dogs go in and out a couple of times. We are still learning about her.
