Foster Update #2: Joshua is doing well in his foster home. He loves to be with his foster dad and enjoys strong chew toys. He is housebroken. He has not shown any interest in the pool. He gets along with the two male Labs in his foster home however would do well as an only dog as he really loves people. He walks pretty well and is calm on leash however he can be reactive if he sees another dog. So he will need a strong handler who can work with him on leash skills and basic training. Foster Update #1: Joshua's kennel cough has turned into pneumonia so he is on antibiotics. He is making a good recovery at his foster's home. Joshua is a large, yellow affectionate dog who would like to sleep in his new owner's bed.His foster is working on housebreaking him. He eats whenever he is hungry and he takes treats nicely. His foster fills his bowl several times a day as Joshua is quite skinny and needs to put on weight. Manners (not bolting through doors and not counter-surfing) are being taught as well. Joshua will need indestructible dog toys as his jaws are super strong and he loves to chew on the dog toys. We are working on improving his self-confidence regarding getting into cars/vans. He lies down next to his foster when she works on the computer and is trustworthy in the house (in the confined kitchen/family room area) if left alone for an hour or two. The new adopter must have tall/secure fences as he has tried to jump over the block wall after hearing dogs bark and he is quite tall. More will be known about him after he gets well and can actually start getting out in the world. Introduction: Joshua comes to us from a shelter with a case of kennel cough and needing vet care. He is underweight and will benefit from good groceries. He is very handsome despite his weight and very sweet.
